How do I add a file to Brightspace?

Updated on

In Brightspace, you can insert various (external) media under Page Content, such as files, images, and video and audio files. Additionally, you can add links to other parts of Brightspace or to an external source.

To add a file, go to the location in the course where the file should be placed.

  1. Go to Content in the navbar and click on the correct place where the file should be added.
  2. Click on the three dots in the top right corner.
  3. Click on Edit.

To add a file to the Page, choose Insert Stuff.

When you want to upload a file that you have saved on your computer, choose My Computer.

You can then drag a file to the Upload area, or click Upload and search for the correct file. Once you have placed the file here, click the blue Upload button at the bottom.

You have the option to change the name of the link to the file. Once you're done, click Insert.

You will see the link to the document appear under Page Content. When you are done editing, click Save and Close at the bottom.
