Which annotation tools are available for inline feedback?

The following tools are available in the annotation toolbar

Quick text highlight
  • Select the text you want to highlight.
  • You can now highlight, strikethrough, or underline the selected statements.

By selecting the highlighted area, you can adjust the color, transparency, and overflow mode.

Freehand drawing

By using the pen tool, you can draw anywhere in the document, move the document, and adjust its size. Additionally, you can change the color, thickness, and transparency of the lines.

Text annotation

You can add text anywhere in the document. You can then move the text and adjust its size. Additionally, you can change the font and color of the text.

Note annotation

You can add longer comments in notes, which can be expanded or collapsed. Change the note's format with different shapes and colors.

How do I make inline feedback visible to students?

After you have finished with inline feedback, you can save the feedback as a draft or publish it directly. This is similar to how you publish a grade and provide brief feedback.

Annotations can be edited until the feedback is published. If you want to add more feedback after publishing, you can update the annotations and republish them.

Where can the student find the inline feedback?

Inline feedback is visible to students in the submitted assignment via Course Tools > Assignments after you have published the feedback.

Feedback provided in the right toolbar is visible to students in both Assignments and Grades.
