Under Account Settings, you can adjust many of the display options in the Brightspace environment to suit your preferences. The adjustments are personal and do not affect how students see your course.

  1. Beneath Pronouns, you can specify whether other users can see your pronouns and which pronouns you would like to use.
  2. Under Font Settings, you can change the text size in Brightspace. Text in images, documents, and objects will not change.
  3. In some Brightspace features, text you scroll over is automatically marked as 'read.' Under Reading Content, you can prevent this by checking 'Do not automatically mark items as read as the page scrolls.'
  4. Beneath Video Settings, you can check that assistive tools can view and play videos (optimize video display) (this is intended for people with disabilities).

Under Locale & Language, you can change the clock display, the first day of the week, and the date, number, and percentage formatting.

We recommend keeping your language set to English. This is because the translations for the 'buttons' in Brightspace are not always accurate.

  1. Beneath Time Zone, you can change the time zone.
  2. Under Signing in, check Always appear offline if you want to prevent others from seeing when you're logged in. Check Appear Online if you want your online status to be visible to others.
  3. Within Application Settings, you can see which apps have access to your Brightspace account, such as the Pulse app. You can also revoke access by clicking Revoke Access.
  4. Click Save and Close to save your changes and return to the page from which you navigated to your account settings.
