This article explains what happens to submissions, contributions, and grades when students unenroll from your course or become inactive in Brightspace.

A student has unenrolled from my course
When students unenroll themselves in Osiris or are unenrolled, they are automatically removed from the course in Brightspace as well. You will no longer see their submissions, contributions, and grades in the same place as those of enrolled students. Once the student is re-enrolled, their data will become visible again as before.
How can I see if a student has unenrolled from my course?
Click on the course where you want to check if a student has unenrolled, then go to Users > Classlist in the navbar.
Click Enrolment Statistics
Then scroll down, and under Withdrawals, you will find the students who have unenrolled from the course.
A student has been set to inactive
After graduation or unenrollment from Hanze, a student’s account remains active for 7 more days. After that, the account is blocked. After 28 days, the account is permanently deleted. Once the account is blocked, the student can no longer log in, and submissions and grades are no longer visible in Brightspace. If the student becomes active again, all data will once again be accessible.
Where can I find submissions, contributions, and grades of unenrolled and/or inactive students?
Below is an overview of whether/where you can find submissions, contributions, and grades of unenrolled and/or inactive students.
Please note that although you cannot see the necessary data, nothing is deleted. Once a student is re-enrolled or reactivated, the data will be visible again as if the student was never gone.
